DMA Group have been helping building owners and occupiers to recognise the contributions they can make to support our national journey towards Net Zero.
Recent independent research in the UK confirmed that many small and mid-sized organisations didn’t know where to start, or how to best make a difference. That’s not surprising, but nevertheless the appetite to save energy and cut carbon remains high, further heightened by increasing energy costs and because investment payback can now be dramatically reduced as a result!
We currently have around £2m of various energy services projects underway with our customers, and many more under consideration.
Our energy audits provide our customers with clear advice to reduce their consumption and to prioritise their renewable alternatives, complete with investment and payback calculations; including the provision of funding packages too.
Our buildings contribute over 40% of our national carbon emissions and around 70% of them will still be around in 2050, so we were delighted to help reinforce that fact in a recent article in FMJ and how we must improve what we already have, not simply demolish and build new.
Read FMJ’s full article titled ‘Operational Performance‘ featuring Kevin Mcguane, Sector MD at DMA Group, where he explains the differences between embodied carbon and operational carbon and how focusing on the latter could reap energy saving benefits for the built environment.
