DMA Group Wins Medium Business of the Year and Best of Kent at the Kent Business Awards

DMA Group is honoured to have been named both the Medium Business Countywide Winner and the overall Best of Kent at the Kent Business Awards 2025. These awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate strong and sustainable growth, bold leadership and imaginative thinking. We are incredibly proud of this recognition as it highlights the remarkable progress, innovation and resilience that continue to shape our business, and reflects what a modern, forward-looking facilities management company can achieve.

With a heritage spanning more than 220 years, DMA has evolved from its origins as a family-run joinery firm into a leading provider of integrated facilities management, M&E maintenance, project delivery and energy solutions across London and the South East, with additional capability for nation-wide coverage through our Integrated Managed Services model. We support customers across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, high-end residential and community organisations, blending traditional expertise with cutting-edge digital capability.

A key driver of our success has been the development of BiO®, our cloud-based maintenance and operations platform we built in-house. BiO® provides real-time performance visibility, automates processes, strengthens compliance and radically reduces administrative effort and has saved our business thousands of hours each year. It has modernised how we work and how our customers manage their estates. It will soon be launched nationally as a SaaS product, bringing AI-powered maintenance capability to organisations across the UK.

Alongside technological innovation, DMA has experienced a significant period of growth, including a 67% uplift in turnover between 2022 and 2024. This has been achieved through strong governance, measured expansion and an intentional focus on partnering with customers who value long-term quality and genuine service improvement. As our business has grown, we have strengthened our leadership structure, establishing a Group Supervisory Board to support our increasingly diversified operations and ensure consistency across maintenance, projects and our emerging software division.

Despite our digital transformation, DMA remains a people-first organisation. Our BRAVO recognition and accountability framework has helped embed a culture in which our people are encouraged, supported and empowered to take ownership of their work. Every role in the business is underpinned by a skills playbook, and development starts from day one. This ensures our teams are equipped to deliver the exceptional service our customers expect. Our commitment to sustainability has also played a significant role in this award recognition. DMA operates under a certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and has set a clear goal to achieve Net Zero by 2040. We have already begun transitioning our fleet to low-emission vehicles, invested in LED and smart controls to reduce energy consumption, and embedded carbon literacy and environmental accountability into everyday operations. For our customers, we champion practical, affordable pathways to carbon reduction, helping hospitals, schools, care providers and community organisations lower emissions whilst improving operational efficiency.

DMA’s deep community roots are another key factor in our win. We are committed to supporting young people across Kent through apprenticeships, T-Level placements and early career development opportunities. Working closely with partners such as Leigh Academies Trust and Folkestone College, we provide mentoring, workplace visits, hands-on experience and resources that help open the door to future careers in engineering and facilities management.
